What kind of gifts do you buy for these kind of people?
By admin on Feb. 1, 2010.
I make little money because I am only 14 and even though it’s August, I’ve got to start to buy christmas presents for my family… I need to fly 3,000 miles with these all in 1 suitcase so keep that in mind. I am going to list personalitities, etc. and I need you guys to give me ideas of what to buy. Try to keep everything at a 20 dollar budget even cheaper PLEASE. I have a lot of people to buy for…
1. My mother, loves to relax… Wears simple jewelry… Obsessions are: Peace signs :] Mid 50′s… Single mom…
2. My father… A fisher, a hunter, a racecar addict, not a big football or baseball person… LOVES to golf…
3. My grandparents – together. They are very VERY wealthy so they are REALLY hard to shop for… They live on a farm in a big house, very warm and cozy. My grandma loves to relax and my grandpa is a hunter, fisher, farmer and family lover… I was thinking of something cute for the house but I’m not sure… What do you buy for people that have the money to buy anything they want?
4. My dads girlfriend!!! She has a HUGE OBSESSION with SNOWMEN!!! She collects ROOMFULLS of snowmen, statues, figurines, blankets, stuffed, pictures… anything!!!
5. I geuss you could call her a stepsister…ish. Her names Courtney… Shes my age, 13 or 14… She LOVES monkeys, she has a wii, she loves stores like aeropostale – a giftcard with a stuffed monkey maybe? :]
6. Alexa, another "stepsister" she loves things like the beach, typical 19 year old girl, in college… I really don’t know her to well… But I have to buy her something!!!
7. My cousin Krystal, shes 13… She LOVES to read, she LOVES horses, she loves abercrombie and fitch – once again, a stuffed animal and giftcard to her favorite store?
8. My cousin Ashley, 9 years old, loves High school musical… Loves horses… Loves jewelry – maybe a neckalace? :]
9. My aunt and uncle – together… Mid 40′s, live on the farm with my grandparents in a different house – cant explain them because I only see them once in a while but… whatever ideas youve got!!!
10. My big sister Dena… Plays soccer, 25, is a teacher, not girly at all…
11. My other aunt- She is a HUGE animal lover, she fosters kittens, has 5 cats of her own, lives in a comfortable home, loves elvis, michael jackson and television… shes 53 years old.
12. My best friend… Is best friend neckalaces a cheap idea? ![]()
I’ll give you some ideas but really, without knowing them I don’t know how it would go over. You might also try gifts.com, you can shop by personality and set the price limit at nothing over $25. Now, one question, are you saying TOTAL the budget is $20, or PER PERSON the budget is $20? If it’s the first, you’d really better cut some people from the list or save some more money.
Mom: How about a peace sign necklace? You could even make it yourself out of clay to make it more personal.
Dad: I saw this once a long time and loved the idea. You take an Altoid’s tin and paint it green. If you can find a scrap peice of fake grass or felt you might put that on the top. You decorate it to look like a golf course. Then you fill it with golf tees, cleats, maybe a golf keychain?
Grandparents: Don’t buy, make. Paint or draw a picture and frame it, or you can buy those clay molds and make them magnets. You could also make marble magnets/thumbtacks. You just need thumbtacks or magnet backing, clear flat back jewels, modgepodge, and some tiny pictures (you can resize ones of you and their other grandchildren, or some of their favorite things). You cut the picture to fit the back of the jewel, modge-podge it on so if the jewel were lying on the table you would be seeing the picture through it. Let it dry, then coat the picture with modgepodge (to protect it) and once THAT’S dry you can glue on the tack/magnet.
Dad’s Girlfriend: My mom does the same thing! Anything snowman related will be fine.
Courtney: Gift card and stuffed monkey sounds good.
Alexa: It depends. College students are notorious for not having any money, and that’s how it was for me too, so depending on what kind of girl she is and her financial situation I would suggest either a little basket of school supplies (notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, paper clips, index cards, etc) or a little basket of stuff she has no "need" for, her favorite nail polish, a couple candy bars, a gift card to the movies, a cd, things like that. Or you could do a "beach in a basket", get a sand pail or a tote bag and fill it with beach things. sunblock, sunglasses, a beach towle, a trashy book, a beach keychain?
Krystal: a giftcard and stuffed animal would be fine. Or maybe a book on horses?
Ashley: How about a High School Musical necklace? You could even get some HSM notebooks, pencils, and books to go with it (you can get them at the dollar store).
Aunt and Uncle: The ones you never see at the hardest to shop for. I’d say your best bet is probably food.
Dena: A soccer keychain with some soccer-related stuff? (water bottle, sweat bands)
Other Aunt: How about a book about the life of Elvis or Michael Jackson? Or just one of those amazing photo collection books they sell, on either man?
Best Friend: Sounds fine, if it’s a nicer one. If it’s the plastic kind of you get at arcades then yes that would be cheap. Clarie’s sells nicer ones for about $10 I believe.
Good luck!
