When getting a Labret piercing, can the same equipment and jewelry be used for a side Labret piercing as well?

By admin on Aug. 16, 2011.

Many piercing kits only state that it is for Labret piercings. However, there are many different kinds of Labret piercings, so will a standard Labret ring work for a side Labret? Like not in the middle of the bottom lip, but off to the side? When I professionally got my side piercing done he used a horse shoe shaped ring and i found out it was too small because my skin healed over it. It has been 6 months now, and i want it again. What type of jewelry is suitable for the side Labret? Thanks!

I’d be a bit worried about someone who gave you a ring that you healed over (you may be going somewhere else anyway, just thought I’d say.)

But it should work. It’s still just a lip piercing, and whether or not the size is appropriate really depends on how far down the piercing is. A labret is a labret at the end of the day, side or centred.

What horse has made the biggest impact on you and why?

By admin on Aug. 8, 2011.

Please include pictures if possible [: I’m giving you full bragging rights

I have had my horse Aspen for 5 years now, and he was the first horse I ever saw born and he was completely mine. His daddy had one brown eye one blue eye and his mom two brown eyes and he came out with two blue eyes and mostly white while the others were dark. It was such a growing experience and he has a personality I’ve never seen in another horse. Our vet said he was something special. He has such a personality, if i leave a horse tied without a proper knot he will untie it and literally run off with them. Or he’ll chase them around with hoses, poles, anything he can get his mouth on. He likes to steal stuff like jewelry and has had a bad habit of pulling shirts down. He walks around like he owns the place and really thinks he is stud, everyone adores him. We also have wire fencing, and he learned to crawl through it and escape. The neighbors would call, "Yeah, Aspen is sticking his head in our window again, please come get him" I think he was aptly named, and another s should have been added.

My first horse Tuff <3

I got him when I was 14, and now I am 16. He has been the best present ever. Because of him, I have lost ALOT of weight, become more confident in myself and have dared to do the impossible. Because of Tuff, we now have our mare, Casey. She is a doll. Tuff is so sweet. He is the perfect first horse. He was so good for me in the beginning and because he hadn’t been ridden in forever, he instantly bonded with me, and me and him were able to learn in grow together. It is the best feeling when your horse does what you think of asking him. When we ride, I feel like we’re connected like the people and horses in Avatar. (Geeky, I know =p) He has taught me patience, love, responsibility and how to be a good rider. He eliminates my problems.

Because of Tuff, we have lived in our new home, our own acerage, for one heavely month. The days fly by and it makes my heart fly when I hear him call out my window for me, or when he would wait at the end of my driveway for me on the bus. He is the best, most loving horse anyone could own. He has changed my life so much in the best way ever.

Anyone who ever meets him loves him. Even a complete stranger we met yesterday could not stop talking and asking and petting him with her own her right there! Everyone loves him. My trainer, friends, everyone. He is the best horse in my world. I think he fits my favorite quote perfectly:

He’s not much in the eyes of the world, but hes the world to me <3

Btw, Aspen sounds amazing! you are very lucky with him <3

What do I wear for horse riding?

By admin on Jun. 8, 2011.

Ok o it says I must wear when riding:

All riders must wear an Australian standard approved riding helmet.
All riders must wear approved boots with small heels with little or no tread – runners or work boots are not permitted.
Sensible, comfortable clothes – not loose or flapping, or tight. They should protect against external abrasions or weather – we suggest a top with collar a sleeves.
Do not wear jewelry that could get caught or lost, or hairstyles that obscure vision when riding. We also suggest shatter proof glasses.
Could you please help find some horse riding outfits that could with that. Im 14 years old but I really insecure about my weight/ image.
Thanks

Riding helmet, obvious – it has to be a helmet specifically for horseback riding, though. If it’s not specifically for riding, it’s not going to cut it. Riding helmets protect better against the kind of falls riders experience than the kind of falls someone experiences from a bike.

Paddock boots work fine – half-chaps are a great thing to pair them with. If not, you can just go for the full calf riding boots. Whatever you prefer.

Jeans ARE fine to ride in – I’ve never ridden in anything except for jeans, they are FINE and I have never had any horse-related accident that would’ve been solved by wearing something other than jeans. As long as your jeans are not super baggy, you should be okay. IF you choose to ride in jeans, I strongly urge you to get paddock boots and half chaps, as full calf riding boots will not work well with them at all and you’re going to want something to protect your calf from the stirrup leather.

Alternately, you can ride in jodhpurs or breeches if you prefer. Calf protection is not as important with these as they generally come with padding on the calves for that reason.

As for shirts, a t-shirt will suffice, or a polo, or.. well, whatever you’re comfortable in.

I also suggest riding gloves, but they aren’t necessary.

Bay Horse Bit-style Bracelet

By admin on May. 27, 2011.

http://www.equestrianjewelry.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=EA0722
This is a circa 1930 reverse crystal of a bay horse set in a new 14 carrot gold bezel bit-style necklace. Features a 14 millimeter reverse crystal of a bridled bay horse with a blaze set in a new 14 carrot gold snaffle bit necklace. There are .24 carrot weight of diamonds set in the gold. The reverse crystal is in excellent condition and the lovely white mother of pearl background makes the crystal glow. The entire bit measures one and three quarter inches across, and the sparkling diamonds heighten the elegance of the necklace. The chain is a strong and attractive rope chain, again, with lots of sparkle. The neckpiece measures 17 and a half inches in length. This is a consummate piece of equestrian jewelry which will only increase in value. This beautiful neckpiece is sure to make any horse lover smile.
