There is this song on ‘Journey Diamond Jewelry’ commercial.
The one where there is white horses galloping and then two people kissing on the beach.

What horse related Christmas gift would you like?
By admin on Jan. 29, 2010.
And no, I’m not buying ![]()
If someone was going to buy you something that you either needed, wanted or would use, what would it be?
I’ve gone mad lately with hubby’s plastic which I told myself could be his Christmas gifts to me so I wanted a new saddle and bridle (nice padded fancy stitch) and I have them – what’s on your list and remember girls (and guys) – I’m checking it twice!
Been AWOL for a few hours and when I left, there was only 1 answer. Again, not sure what the deal is with the thumbs down – there is no wrong answer!
All I want is another farm with more acreage so I can take in more rescues…… but I am thankful for what I do have no matter how small
If your not buying, how about loaning ; )

What does the phrase "never look a gift horse in the mouth" mean?
By admin on Jan. 29, 2010.
It means you should be thankful for things that other people give you without expecting anything in return, even if it isn’t perfect or exactly what you need.
Where the saying comes from:
A horses teeth are a good sign of how healthy the animal is. When a horse is bought the perspective owner looks into the mouth to see what condition the teeth are in.
If a horse is given to you as a gift you should be thankful for the gesture, even if it doesn’t have perfect teeth.

What happens if you look a gift horse in the mouth?
By admin on Jan. 29, 2010.
The phrase comes from the idea that a horse’s teeth are a good indication of its age, and those wanting to buy a horse would look at its teeth (in the mouth).
To immediately judge a gift based on its worth or usefulness rather than the "thought" behind it is considered rude and ungrateful.

What is the right thing to do in this situation?
By admin on Jan. 29, 2010.
Here’s the deal:
My family is from Kansas.
His family is from Mexico.
He, myself and parts of our family live in Texas.
Our families have offered to help financially with small stuff (his mom will help with the cake, my mom will do the centerpieces, etc.) but he and I are taking care of the big stuff and everything else financially. We both have decent jobs but we’re not rich.
OPTION #1 (BRIDE’S FAV): The origional plan was to do an intimate local botanical garden wedding in the fall. Followed by a dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. 50 people tops. Probably closer to 35. Something simple like this is has been my dream. Simple wedding, simple dress, simple decor followed by an AWESOME week-long honeymoon.
OPTION #2 (GROOM’S FAV): As we were saving for the garden & vendor reservation fees, one of our friends highly reccomended a bed and breakfast… and brought us a brochure. We agreed to look into it, visited it, and my groom FELL IN LOVE with the location and wants to do it there the following spring. They require a minimum of 75 people, we can only use their food, cake & vendors (so our family may not be as open to helping), and it’s going to cost about 8k. If we did this we’d skip the honeymoon.
OPTION #3 (MY FAMILY’S FAV): My mom and grandparents suggested doing it on their land in Kansas next spring. They have over 50 acres and a horse arena that is brand new and has never been used by animals. She thinks we can invite as many as we want and still keep it fairly reasonable.
OPTION #4 (HIS FAMILY’S FAV): His mom suggested doing it in Mexico next summer in a hacienda by their house. She says we can invite 200 people and spend $3,000 tops. She took photos of the area, put together a vendor list and got everything pretty much all planned out.
My job is pretty chaotic (long hours, very stressful & competitive). So I would secretly feel overwhelmed by a big wedding and cheated if we didn’t have enough money for a relaxing honeymoon just the two of us. But I’m the only one who feels this way and feel selfish hanging onto the idea of the first option when everyone else (my groom included) wants something else. What would you do?
Sorry it’s so long… geesh. Thanks in advance for your responses.
so simple. go with number one.
then, some other time, you and groom and maybe even your favorite sister and her husband could all spend a weekend at this bed and breakfast as a little weekend trip, say on your first or second anniv.
if you did it in kansas, you would not be in control of any of these factors, weather, people coming in and out, too much.
#4. you have to be kidding. everyone gets passports and travels to a country that many are wary of right now? no way. someday in the far future you and your husband can visit there.
number one makes the perfect sense. not because it is your day do what you want, because it is easiest for everyone, and easy for you while letting you still provide a nice, easy day for everyone.
note: you must tell the place you dine at that this is a wedding reception. no restaurant wants to find out that dinner for 35 is actually your wedding reception. it will disturb the other diners and is not what a restaurant is for, they have back rooms or other parts of the restaurant for your party.

Horse riding clothing?
By admin on Jan. 29, 2010.
Me & My Friend Are Starting Horse Riding Next Week, The Lessons Are Gonna Be Free Because We Will Be Working There, Mucking Out Etc.. So What Sort Of Clothes Will We Need, Wellies Ect? All Of The Stuff Will Be Supplied, Reigns etc..
x Thaanks..
Well when i first started lessons i rode western so i wore boot-cut jeans half – chaps and a pair of construction boots. My shirt was whatever i was wearing that day but no tank tops. I would wear light colors and not very baggy shirts so the instructor can see your posture better. As I got better my mom eventually bought me paddock boots and some breeches. Depending on your stables the grooming supplies will be there for you… and the tack will be also! I hope you have fun when you start!!

What should a 14 year old girl ask for Christmas?
By admin on Jan. 25, 2010.
I already have a camera, an iPod (which I paid for myself), an iPod dock and my family has a Wii that we share. I don’t want a cell phone, makeup, jewelry..
I am into riding horses, shopping and hanging out with friends.
I really don’t know what I want this year, and I would like suggestions please! Thanks!
Also, I would love a laptop, but my family wouldn’t buy something like that for just one person.
well since you love to shop you could ask for gift cards to some of your favorite stores

wow, a baby horse she was born 2/20/09?
By admin on Jan. 25, 2010.
i need a good web site that will tell my lil brother how to take care of a baby horse. its a girl so dose that make it a fol or a colt? he got the mare as a gift and come to find out she was pregnant what do we do?she was born 2/20/09.
What a wonderful surprise! A baby horse is called a foal with no distinction as to sex. Girls are fillies, and boys are colts. Foals are easy to care for, just leave them with mom, feed mom well, provide room for the baby to run and play, and give them attention to get them used to people. They will start eating with mom when ready and just add more as they eat more. I really don’t know about web sites, but there are numerous books on the subject available at libraries or any good feed store. Good luck with your bonus!

What happens when you look a gift horse in the mouth?

Well from at least the time of the Trojan War you then have to give it up Greek style! Never mess up tradition!
