What the heck is a "gift horse" anyhow and where did this saying come from?

What the hell does a horse have to do with it? LOL!!

Oh come on people. It means, when you try to look in the horses mouth, your going to get your fingers bit. So instead of looking in the horses mouth, just accept the gift and smile and say, of honey, it’s so nice of you to give me a gift. Do not question why and really do not put your hands in the mouth of a horse, have you seen the teeth on them, you could lose several fingers easily. LOL.

What is a good gift idea for my horse?

I’m just looking for something little to get her for the holidays, does anyone know of any websites that sell gifts for horses? (And cats or dogs, if you know of any)

All kinds of stuff. If you dont wanna spend a lot of money (like me. lol), Just get a stocking and decorate yourself for your horse. Put it on your horse’s stall door and put a lot of treats in it. Then whoever passes by can give your horse a free treat. Horses dont really know what the holidays are or what they are for, so getting them a christmas tree with 10+ gifts is not really worth the trouble. lol

Room Decor Ideas for me?

So i am redoing my room. My walls will probably be a pale orange. I also am into green. I hate pink. And i don’t want it to have bright colors. Do you guys have any ideas for websites to buy stuff? I like horses and i am 12, if that changes any! Thanks!

Think your favorite color then choose the best color and then color your room decor. Don’t change the design only the color or create a color combination from your favorite color.

Can you dry wet clothes without a machine or clothes horse?

Is there anyway you can dry clothes without using a machine, a clothes horse or a washing line. For example would clothes dry just hung on a chair?

i dry my clothes that i don’t want to put in the dryer on a tension rod that i bought to put over the tub in the washroom. i bought it for that purpose and if something is really wrinkled i hang it on a hanger hang it on the rod and hose it down with my hand shower attachment with hot water and voila no ironing

Do you think that I should buy a horse?

I have recently fallen in love with horses. I am 17 and live in a rural community… I had never ridden a horse until about 6 months ago but have several times since then and am just dying for one of my own… I will be graduating in the summer of 2010 and my grandpa has property that I could keep my horse on- he even offered to buy me one as a graduation gift!

Horse owners and lovers… what do you think? What are the advantages and disadvantages of me owning a horse?

Wow we have like the same exact story haha. Horses are awesome…and not to mention fun. Since your grandpa is willing to buy and board your horse, that cuts down on a lot of costs. Go for it! Most horse loving kids would kill for the opportunity that you have to get a horse haha.

Going to get a septum piercing…. what does the jewelry look like… i know its a horse shoe, but what gauge? pictures if possible

I was pierced at 14g with a horseshoe shaped retainer. I don’t think I have pictures of just the retainer, but I do have some of the continuous ring I used to wear all the time.

And yes, I was drunk in both of those pictures okay and the second one was downtown in Germany after the national team won the semifinal of the Euro Cup, so it was a pretty huge party. All my normal pictures don’t show the ring hardly at all because it’s pretty tiny.

She’s more of a country girl, loves horses and pigs, pretty dry sense of humor and very sarcastic. Remember that I’m not exactly made of money.

I want to give her a good gift though. Last year (before I really got to know her) I gave her 2 dead batteries lol. She wasn’t amused, but I definitely was! So I want to get a better gift this year.

What are some good ideas for horse gifts for christmas?

My parents want to buy me gifts for christmas, and I ride. I have a pony, too. I have basically everything I could need… Any unique ideas for what I could ask?

My saddle is getting old… It’s been passed down a lot and has a good amount of wear. Would a saddle thats less used be a good thing to ask for? I know about fitting… I use bounce pads when I ride. It makes the saddle more comfortable for the horse. Its basically a giant thing of foam. Just clearing it up that I do know a saddle has to fit the horse or pony properly…

But I mean… Would a saddle be a good thing to ask for? A used one, that is. And what inch size should I get? I know theres 15 in 16 in etc… What size would be good for me? I’m 5’1", 110lbs and 13 years old. (:

This would be the first saddle that I’d actually be buying. My current saddle was given to me by my trainer because it fits my pony. However, its a tad bit old. She also recommended I ask for one for Christmas.

You would probably use a 16" saddle (English, that is) Why don’t you ask them for a gift certificate to a tack store? Then you could get what you want? Or take a look at www.WildHorsefeathers.com for some ideas – they have some really cute stuff…

How do we tell the gift horse?

Once a month a client buys our office bagels. He always sends plain cream cheese & salmon flavored cream cheese along with them. We appreciate the kindness, but none of us likes salmon cream cheese.

Should we continue to let these tubs of cream cheese stock up in our fridge until the expiration date and throw them out when expired? (Be food wasters?) or

Should we let the client know?
This has been going on for 2 months.

room decorating for a teenage girl?

Hi,
I want to re-do my room, but I cant spend too much $.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how I get started, and places where I can buy inexpensive room decor, or any cool Ideas about what to do with the room.
Here are some things about me so maybe they can help give u ideas:
-I am 14 years old
-I ride horses (western) and im a cowgirl
-my room is big, it used to be an attic, but it was refurbished, so it is the length of my house.
-my walls are slanted on either side.
-my fav. colors are turquoise(teal), light blue, pink and purple.

I need some help about where to start, unique ideas, etc.

Since your room is the whole length of your house, which sounds like its pretty big (long anyway) you could break it up into different areas. Sleeping, desk/homework/computer, hanging out, maybe a storage type area or whatever else you might like to do in your room.

An idea I thought of when I read through your question was to paint each wall a different color. The two fullest walls, one could be the light blue for your sleeping area, the opposite wall could be the teal (as an example), then the two walls where the ceiling/wall slants, one side could be pink and the other purple.

You could visit the wall words website and get words done that indicate the areas i.e. "sleeping", "studying", etc. It shouldn’t be very expensive, and they are transfers, so if you change your room they will come off easily.

Bean bag chairs in the colors you mentioned for your hanging out area will give you and your friends a place to sit and tie in all the colors in the room.

For your love of horse, you could look on ebay for some horse related items, maybe a horse shoe to hang over your door for good luck.
